Anna Yan Ji Arabia became an angel early Thursday, Feb 14th full of faith, love and kindness. Anna faced her rare brain tumor Gliomatosis Cerebri with amazing strength and never let it touch her spirit.

Anna was born April 9, 1996 in Huazhou, China and was joyfully welcomed into her family on January 20th, 1997. She enjoyed her time spent with family and friends, NYC, shopping, music, the Drury Band and Drama Team and her iPhone! She excelled at school, loved her time at Conte Middle and Drury High Schools, receiving her diploma in December at a special ceremony in her home. She was a communicant of St Elizabeth of Hungary Parish and received her Confirmation in May.

She was loved by her Mom and Dad, Kathy and Joe Arabia of North Adams, Grandfathers Anthony Arabia of North Adams and John Prince of Brighton, Godmother Mary Costa of Peabody and Godfather Paul Arabia of North Adams, many aunts, uncles and cousins who were so special to her, and her dog Ayla. She is joining her Grandmothers Anna Arabia, Mary Prince and Dorothy Arabia in heaven.

The support, care and love of everyone who helped her through this journey is greatly appreciated. Anna developed special relationships along the way with so many people from our wonderful community, and her caring medical team.

A joyful celebration of her life will take place at Flynn and Dagnoli-Montana Home for Funerals West Chapels, 521 West Main St. North Adams on Monday February 18th from 4 to 7pm. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 11:00am at St Elizabeth of Hungary Church. If desired, donations in memory of Anna can be made through the funeral home for one of two funds being established by the family. The Anna Arabia Drury High School Scholarship Fund, or the AYJ Fund to continue research of brain tumors and support other kids living with cancer.
