In Memory of Billy Coulter
Bill served on the Massachusetts State Police for the past 45 years, achieving the rank of Detective Lieutenant. He was a member of the Massachusetts State Police Commissioned Officer’s Association. He was a longtime cancer survivor and passionate about Cops for Kids with Cancer, where he was the Chairman. His other passion was physical fitness, completing over 20 Ironman Triathlons and 150 marathons, including 36 consecutive Boston Marathons and every Disney World Marathon. This will be the first marathon he will not be running is 36 years.
Cops For Kids With Cancer “Sponsored” Runners
To run in the Boston Marathon you need to have a fast enough qualifying time – or you can run for one of the official charities. As an official Charity Partner of the Boston Marathon we receive a small number of “invitational” entries to the Boston Marathon. We use these entries to recruit individual runners who pledge to raise at least $10,000 for our cause.
On Monday, April 20, 2020 Peabody Police Chief Thomas Griffin, Sergeant Jim Harkins, Officers Joanna Kamouzis, Samantha Doherty, Dispatcher Scott Bingel, Peabody Firefighter Michael Coleman, Peabody Educator Katie Tracia and Mayor Teddy Bettencourt will be running the 124th Boston Marathon.
Duxbury PD “Team Remy”
As a commemoration of Dennis Symmonds 46 years serving, he will be running in the 2020 Boston Marathon along with fellow Duxbury Officer and long time friend, Officer Jim Tougas. We are running to benefit Cops For Kids With Cancer and our goal is to raise $46,000 ($1,000 for each year I served in Law Enforcement).
My first marathon was Boston in 2003 and I haven’t looked back since. This will be my 18th consecutive Boston Marathon and my third on behalf of Cops for Kids with Cancer. It’s an honor to run for this amazing charity whose primary mission is to support families suffering from childhood cancer.
As the husband of a cancer survivor, and fellow police officer, I am humbled and inspired by all those who battle cancer. It is a privilege to run the 2020 Boston Marathon as a member of the Cops For Kids With Cancer Team, and thank you to all who donate to the campaign.
I ran my first marathon in 2017 and am so excited to run my first, of hopefully many, Boston marathons in 2020. Thank you so much for your contribution and please know I will be thinking about each and every one of you come race day.
As the Founder and Owner of a private nursing agency in Boston, I see first-hand the devastation cancer causes to families. I am running my fifth marathon, first in Dublin, Ireland and honored to run my fourth Boston Marathon for Cops for Kids with Cancer. Cops for Kids with Cancer is an all-volunteer Board that distributes 100 per cent of funds raised directly to families in need. Thank you for your contribution and I will be thinking of you on Monday, April 20!
It is an honor to run this year on the Cops For Kids with Cancer marathon team in honor of Detective Lieutenant Coulter. It will be my fifth Boston Marathon, and fifth year running with this amazing charity. I love the small close knit family vibe. The board truly takes pride in connecting with the community and supporting those who need a little something extra. Time to hit the pavement and pray for good weather on April 20th! Happy training to all!
This will be my 19th overall marathon and my 11th Boston Marathon. Since 2013, members of the Everett Police Department have run in the Boston Marathon and raised over $110,000 for Cops for Kids with Cancer, a 501c3 non- profit charity. As many of us are personally affected by cancer, it is especially heart-wrenching to hear of a child with this disease. Cops for Kids with Cancer raises money, ultimately awarding it to the families of children who are diagnosed with cancer. These families are each awarded $5000.00 to help relieve some of the financial burdens that often occur during treatment. Over the years, Cops for Kids with Cancer has given over $4.1 MILLION to 762 families in need.
Runners Choosing to Support Cops For Kids With Cancer
The following team members either qualified for the Boston Marathon or have received their invitational entry through a different program. Regardless of their entry type, they have volunteered to raise money for our charity. Thank you!!
Since 2013, I have run 6 Boston marathons with Cops for Kids. I am blessed to be able to turn my passion for running into something that will help children who are fighting for their health. The 2020 Boston marathon will also be my 30th marathon and not only am I running for the children of Cops for Kids but also to honor the life and legacy of my friend Bill Coulter. My fundraising goal is $10,000 with the hopes of raising as much money as possible to help kids who are fighting cancer. Any donation no matter the size is greatly appreciated and makes a huge difference!
Please help me support Cops For Kids With Cancer as I run the 2020 Boston Marathon with the MSP charity team! In twenty years of running I’ve completed 2 marathons, 20 half marathons and more shorter races than I can count… But this race is different because I’m doing it for such an important cause and the goals are so much bigger than my own. Thank you for your help!
Please help support me in my fourth Boston Marathon fundraising for Cops For Kids With Cancer! This charity not only does amazing work, but does so with humility and supports LOCAL families as they go through some of the hardest times of their lives. I’m picture here with Lt Bill Coulter, who got me started and became a friend and inspiration over the years, and Luis. Luis received a check from CFKWC and has since gone to attend and complete a police academy in hopes of a career in law enforcement. Please consider giving whatever you can to help our local kids and their families.
I will be running my 3rd Boston Marathon and appreciate your support!
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for Cops for Kids with Cancer. This is my 6th year running the Boston Marathon and each year I struggle to find the words to express what this run and charity means to me. Each of my previous five runs has had special meaning for me and this year is no different. This year, I am running in memory of a friend, a coworker, a HERO. I am running for DLt Billy Coulter on the Mass State Police team.
I’m running in honor of Ironman Bill Coulter, who was my inspiration for the last 10 Boston Marathons, among many other things. He was a hero to myself and many others. It was an honor to be associated with him and the Boston Marathon group that he has assembled over the years.
This will be my 4th Boston Marathon and my first for CFKWC. I’m proud to be a member of the team and have seen how much good this organization can do. Thank you for your support as we endeavor to help those impacted by this illness. The Boston Marathon has consistently proved that the things which unite us are greater than the things which divide us. Thank you again!
When my Uncle Billy, a Detective Lieutenant in the Massachusetts State Police and the Chairman of Cops for Kids with Cancer, passed away in the fall, I knew immediately that a marathon was in my imminent future. I consider myself to be so lucky to raise money for the charity that he was so passionate about by running the race he was so passionate about, the Boston Marathon.
This year I will be running the Boston Marathon in memory of my great friend Billy Coulter. Billy, is the reason behind my marathoning experiences. The photo above is he and I upon completion of the Boston to Big Sur Challenge (2 marathons, 2 coasts, 6 days apart). Through the years, we have partaken in so many great adventures together and shared so many laughs.
Please help me support Cops For Kids With Cancer as I run the 2020 Boston Marathon with Team MSP! This is my first marathon after previously completing 2 half marathons and other shorter races. Thank you for your help!
There is an African Proverb that asserts: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together”. On April 20, 2020, I will be running the 124th Boston Marathon on behalf of the Massachusetts State Police as a member of the Ironman Marathon Team, in honor of Detective Lieutenant William “Ironman” Coulter.
Running the Boston Marathon has been a dream and goal of mine for three years. I started running four years ago and fell in love with it ever since. I grew up in this city, and there is no other marathon I would rather run. I am excited to be running the Boston Marathon for Cops For Kids With Cancer. It is an amazing charity! Thank you all for supporting such a wonderful cause!
This will be my 1st Boston Marathon. Please help me support local families of children battling cancer as I run the 2020 Boston Marathon. I look forward to the challenge and I am excited to be part of the Cops for Kids with Cancer Team. Thank you the support!
This will be my first time running the Boston Marathon. I just recently completed the 2019 Chicago Marathon and could not be more excited and thankful to have the opportunity to run the Boston Marathon. I feel honored to be apart of the Massachusetts State Police charity team in supporting the Cops For Kids with Cancer foundation.
This year I will be running my first Boston Marathon for Cops for Kids with Cancer in memory of my Uncle Detective Lieutenant William “Ironman” Coulter.
Hi! Please help me honor Lt Bill Coulter by making this marathon my best donation year as I set out to complete my 10th Boston Marathon!
This is my first marathon and I appreciate all your support!
Please help me support Cops For Kids With Cancer as I run the 2020 Boston Marathon. This will be my first marathon! I am running for the Mass State Police in memory this year of DLt Billy Coulter. Thank you all for your contributions and support!
Want to see me suffer for GREAT causes?!? I DO TO! This year I will be running the Boston Marathon Tough Ruck on the Sunday before the Boston Marathon. This consist of 26.2 miles in full Military uniform with 40 pounds on my back. Then I will take to the 2020 Boston Marathon with the Massachusetts State Police. This is for a GREAT cause: COPS FOR KIDS WITH CANCER. If you could please help me achieve my goal of $1000 I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for you support!
I am looking forward to running my first Boston marathon and I appreciate your support.
This will be my 23rd consecutive year running the Boston Marathon. This is my first year that I have the privilege to run for the Massachusetts State Police team and raise money for their charity the Cops for Kids With Cancer. I am committed to raise money for the families of children who have been diagnosed with cancer. Hoping you will support me by donating to my efforts. Thank you!
Hello supporters, I’m pleased to announce that I have been selected to run the 2020 Boston Marathon on behalf of the Cops For Kids with Cancer charity group through the Massachusetts State Police. This charity helps relieve some of the financial burden that struggling families of children with cancer face. I am honored to have this opportunity, and I need your help to reach my fundraising goal for this great cause. Thanks in advance for your support!
This will be my 3rd Boston Marathon. I will be racing in honor of fellow Ironman DLT Coulter. It was an honor to be able to talk to him about his Ironman experiences. I’ll be running for cops for kids with cancer, a charity that meant so much to him. Thanks for your support!
This year I’ll be running the Boston Marathon for my second time with the Cops For Kids With Cancer organization. This year is especially important to me as the State Police family has lost a rock in our foundation. Billy Coulter was a friend of mine and inspired me to run the Boston Marathon in 2019. His legacy lives on and I’m hoping he can lend me his motivation (and legs) for the upcoming training that needs to be done. I take a lot of pride in running for this organization and especially with Billy looking over us this year. God bless
