In Memory of Billy Coulter
Bill served on the Massachusetts State Police for over 45 years, achieving the rank of Detective Lieutenant. He was a member of the Massachusetts State Police Commissioned Officers Association. Bill was a longtime cancer survivor and passionate about Cops for Kids with Cancer, where he was the Chairman at the time of his death. His other passion was physical fitness, completing over 20 Ironman Triathlons and 150 marathons, including 36 consecutive Boston Marathons and every Disney World Marathon up until his passing. The Mass State Police Striders (Ironman) Marathon Team exists because of Det. Lt. Coulter. He worked painstakingly to make this team what it is today. He would have been beyond proud to see all the members of the Massachusetts State Police who have chosen to be physically fit, mind and body, by running Boston, the greatest marathon in the world!
Cops For Kids With Cancer “Sponsored” Runners
To run in the Boston Marathon you need to have a fast enough qualifying time – or you can run for one of the official charities. As an official Charity Partner of the Boston Marathon we receive a small number of “invitational” entries to the Boston Marathon. We use these entries to recruit individual runners who pledge to raise at least $10,000 for our cause.
I am running the 2022 Boston Marathon to fundraise for Cops for Kids With Cancer, an amazing charity that supports the financial needs of families with children fighting cancer. Cops for Kids with Cancer has donated over $4.1 million directly to 762 families. I ask for your donation to help me reach my fundraising goal of $10,000.
I’m currently a member of the Massachusetts State Police and on my free time I love staying active. I am an avid skier and played sports throughout my life. I love using HIIT workouts in addition to running. This will be my first time running a full marathon and the Boston Marathon has always been on my bucket list. However, I will be doing so for an outstanding cause to help fundraise for Cops for Kids with Cancer. My wife also has stage 4 metastatic breast cancer and is my greatest friend and mentor in life. She also loves running and has already ran in a number of races and her will and determination of not just battling cancer but enjoying life everyday encourages me to do the same which is why I’m running the marathon.
I am hitting the road again and attempting to run the 2023 Boston Marathon for a special organization in Cops For Kids With Cancer. Childhood cancer is something that so many kids and their families deal with so courageously. Raising funds for an organization that helps so many families on a daily basis is a great honor. I am asking for any help in reaching my $10,000.00 target. I really appreciate your help in reaching this goal and I know the families of the children battling this disease are so grateful to you too.
Thanks so much everyone!
I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to run my second Boston Marathon for the 2023 year! This will be my second marathon running in support of the Cops for Kids With Cancer Organization. I am honored once again to run in memory of my dad, Stephen Ettridge, who passed away in September of 2021 after fighting Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and Head and Neck cancer for nine years. A proud supporter of Cops For Kids With Cancer for many years, my dad understood the impact that support and community could have on those battling cancer. Cops for Kids With Cancer, a foundation I have seen rooted in love, hope, and strength built a community to support children and their families in “fighting the fight” against cancer. Having felt first hand the impact cancer can have on a family, I, like my dad, am proud to support a cause that strives to help so many kids in their battle. I am asking this year that you please help support this remarkable organization and help me reach my goal of raising $10,000. Any donation is appreciated and can make a difference!
My name is Barry Tufts and I will be running my second marathon this spring with a goal of raising $10,000 for Cops For Kids with Cancer. CFKWC is a very special charity to me and my family. In May of 2018, my son Remy was diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Remy had just turned four years old, and the diagnosis was devastating. In November of 2018, my family received a generous donation from CFKWC that greatly assisted us as Remy battled cancer. Running the Boston Marathon this April is a way that I can give back to a tremendous organization that helped my family so much when we needed it most.
Please support my fundraiser!
Hey everyone! Thanks for visiting my donation page for 127th Boston Marathon. Our team is raising money for Cops for Kids with Cancer and this year, I’ve made it my mission to raise $10,000 for this charity. 2023 marks ten years since the bombings at the finish line, and my goal is two-fold, raise awareness and funds for this incredible charity, and preserve the memory of the lives lost in 2013 while honoring those who survived and celebrating their strength and resiliency. Thank you for your support and for making my goal a reality.
Team Dragon Slayers Fundraiser

Hello everyone, my name is Felicia Gonzalez and I am a Police Officer in the town of Milford, MA. I have been a police officer for 5 years and this is my first time running the Boston Marathon. I have always dreamed of running a marathon and being able to raise money for a good cause. Aside from helping people everyday in my rewarding job, running for this cause would be so meaningful as it hits close to home.

The Rhode Island State Police Marathon Team
On Monday, April 17, 2023, members of the Rhode Island State Police will be participating in the 127th running of the Boston Marathon for the charity Cops for Kids with Cancer. As a team, Sergeant Daniel O’Neil, and Troopers Neil Kelly and Brendan Morgan have committed to raising $15,000 to successfully assist families within the State of Rhode Island with the financial and the emotional difficulties that come with having a child battling cancer. Once again, we will be running the Boston Marathon and continuing the tradition of honoring our dear friend DLT Billy Coulter by raising funds for Cops for Kids with Cancer in his memory, as he was Chairman of the organization when he passed away. This will be Katie’s 4th and my 27th Boston Marathon.
My name is Jen DeSimone and I will be running in my 24th Boston Marathon this April 2023. I am honored to have been given the opportunity to run on behalf of Cops for Kids With Cancer. Such a wonderful organization that supports families of children battling cancer. The funds raised go to cover a variety of expenses to include: non-covered treatment or medications, travel and parking for the hospital, eating away from home, babysitters and possible home alterations. I think we can all agree this is an important and meaningful cause and I humbly ask for your support. Thank you!
I’m so excited to announce I will be running my first Boston Marathon with the MSP for such an amazing charity, Cops for Kids with Cancer. Every time I run, I remind myself that it’s a privilege to be able to move my body & legs so that I can run for all those who aren’t physically able to, those fighting for their own life, those fighting for other’s lives, and those who unfortunately aren’t here with us anymore, so what an even bigger privilege that I can use my ability to move to raise money in honor of everyone I run for. Please help support my fundraiser and help me reach my goal of raising $2,500. Any donation is greatly appreciated and can make a difference. Thank you!
I’m running the 2023 Boston Marathon and raising money for Cops For Kids With Cancer. My goal is $4000 and need everyone’s help.
Please help me reach my fundraising goal.
The Boston Marathon and running for Cops for Kids with Cancer have become an annual tradition for me. This will be my 14th time at Boston and I am beyond grateful to have the opportunity to give back to this incredible charity. Since its inception, it has assisted over 800 families in need, totaling more than $4.7 million in and around New England. Families whose children are undergoing cancer treatments receive funds to help offset the litany of travel/lodging/food related costs that come with such a diagnosis. At Mile 20, when my legs are screaming to quit, I will channel their inner fight and finish with determination. Please help me reach my goal!
Hi everyone, I’m teaming up with the MSP Marathon Team and Cops for Kids with Cancer once again for my 7th marathon and my 4th Boston. I was honored to raise money for a great group like Cops for Kids with Cancer in the years past and I am excited to do it again. Any donation amount helps and I appreciate the support!
Hi, my name is Drew Briggs, and this year I am honored to be running the 127th Boston Marathon representing the Massachusetts State Police. All of our fundraising will be going directly to Cops for Kids with Cancer, helping families of children with cancer in any way possible. Any donation, big or small, is greatly appreciated and will go a long way. Thank you for your help, we would not be able to do this without you! See you in Boston!
I am honored to be running the 2023 Boston Marathon with the Massachusetts State Police Ironman Marathon Team. It’s my first marathon and proud to have the opportunity to raise money for “Cops for Kids with Cancer”. Please consider donating to this great cause. Thank you for any and all support.
Here we go again!!!! # 6! Big one this year as not only do we run to raise money for children fighting cancer, but to honor the city of Boston on the 10 year anniversary of the marathon attack on April 15th 2013. We run for those we lost, those who were injured, and those brave police officers who answered the call to help those in need, and hunt down those responsible. Help me reach my goal of raising $1,000 for Cops For Kids With Cancer, and I’ll see ya on the route from Hopkington to Boylston St!
I have been a Trooper with MSP since 2016, currently assigned to the K-9 unit. Prior to working for the MSP I worked for the Essex County Sheriffs Department. I also spent 10 years in the Army National Guard, separating in 2020 as a First Lieutenant in the 1-101 Field Artillery.

For the second year in a row, we are honored to have the opportunity to run in the Boston Marathon for the Ironman Marathon Team supporting Cops for Kids with Cancer! The cause speaks for itself. Our goal is to raise as much as possible to do our part. Thanks so much for your support.
I am honored to be running in my third Boston Marathon while supporting a great cause – Cops for Kids with Cancer. This is a charitable organization focused on raising funds to provide assistance to families of children fighting cancer. Please help me support this worthy cause as I run the 2023 Boston Marathon.
My name is Danny Barber and I am a Detective with the Stoughton Police Department. I was a recruit officer in the Boston Police Academy Class 52-13 during the marathon bombing. I am privileged to be able to run the marathon on the 10th Anniversary of that day and humbled to run it as part of the Ironman Team. I was fortunate to have met Billy Coulter and I am proud to run in his memory as a police officer in the Town of Stoughton where he was a long time resident. I hope you consider donating to a cause that was very important to him and his legacy.
Mackenzie C. Sinnott

Daniel “Eric” Pellegrini
I’m running in my second Boston Marathon for the MSP Marathon Team. Couldn’t be happier helping out such a great charity for such a great cause. See you on Boylston St.
My name is Farrah Gray, and I’m running my first Boston Marathon this year! I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to run with the Massachusetts State Police team and to help fundraise for Cops for Kids with Cancer. Running the marathon this year means a lot to me for a couple reasons. As many of you know, this is the 10th anniversary of the Boston Marathon Bombings, which was the first marathon I ever attended. I was inspired by all of the courage, strength, and perseverance I witnessed on that day, and in the days that followed. I’m also running in memory of one of the strongest Troopers I had the pleasure of knowing, my friend and classmate, Trooper Tamar Bucci, #4440.
