Runner FAQ

Running the Boston Marathon is a dream of a life time for many people. It’s on almost every distance runner’s bucket list. The Boston Marathon is the most prestigious marathon in the world.

How much money do I have to raise?

Top consideration will be given to those applicants who commit to fundraising goals above the required $10,000 minimum and who provide detailed fundraising plans to support their commitment.

Can I apply to more than one charity?

YES! You can apply to as many as you like. Some do charge an application fee for applying. So read carefully. Some charge a team fee if accepted onto the team.

Do you take out of state runners?

YES! We love out of state runners! We take our of state and international runners very seriously and we encourage out of state runners to apply.

What is the selection process and when can I expect to hear back if I was chosen?

Tough to answer this one in only a couple of paragraphs. Suffice to say, the BAA has certain guidelines, as do we when looking for potential team members. As we are a fundraising charity, your ability to meet your fundraising goal is important. Your success is our success.

We want to give team members as much time as possible to fund raise, so we will get the word out to you as soon as possible.

What if I don’t meet my fundraising obligation?

This is always an important question. Runners who don’t meet the fundraising minimum will be contacted and their situation will be discussed.
