Support John Kelleher’s Fundraiser!
I am proud to announce that I am running the 2021 Boston Marathon on behalf of the Cops for Kids with Cancer team! It will be my second marathon – my first was the Marine Corps Marathon back in 2012 (yes, that’s an old picture!) – and I am beyond grateful to be able to run again for such an important cause.
Friends and family know that I was deployed to Afghanistan with the Marines for nearly all of last year. I was truly honored when I received thousands of dollars’ worth of donations from my Massachusetts State Police family, and these thoughtful supplies went to hundreds of young Marines who keep us safe. I’ve met the most selfless men and women in each of these institutions, and I am humbled each day to call them friends.
The Massachusetts State Police family lost a hero last year in Detective Lieutenant Bill “Ironman” Coulter. He was truly larger than life and he motivated others each day with his amazing fitness, kind heart, and absolute determination. He previously survived cancer, a disease that has undoubtedly touched everyone reading this, and went on to inspire all who knew him, completing more than 150 marathons and 20 triathlons after defying a dire prognosis. His passing was a loss to countless people, and I am honored to help carry his torch.
Cops for Kids with Cancer is an organization for which Bill was one of the leading forces. When families receive the most devastating news, the impact is immediate and far-reaching. Since a parent must be available at all times for a sick child, one almost certainly quits work. Expenses suddenly skyrocket while income is cut in half. This is where the organization steps in, giving families the financial cushion they need to ease their unimaginable pain. I hope that you will consider donating to this cause, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting my 2021 Boston Marathon with a donation to my page!
