Yesterday, the Fall River Police Department teamed up with Cops For Kids With Cancer to present a donation to the family of Adonis. Retired Boston Police Captain Paul Ivens, Vice-President of Cops for Kids with Cancer, came to the Fall River Police Station to meet Adnois and his mother Brooke Richard and provide the family with a check to assist with the many expenses families face when fighting pediatric cancer. Chief Paul Gauvin, Fall River Police, was on hand for the presentation and to meet with the family along with other officers.
Cops for Kids with Cancer is a registered charitable organization focused on raising funds to provide assistance to families of children battling cancer. Founded in 2002 the organization started by donating money to oncology units at children’s hospitals; in 2008 direct donations began to be provided to families to help them with the many expenses these families face.
