John Delaney, a retired Springfield PD Sergeant, has organized the annual Ride to Remember bike ride for the past 15 years to raise money in memory of fallen public safety officers. Cops for Kids with Cancer was selected as the beneficiary for the proceeds from this year’s ride. Mayor Domenic Sarno, who is presently fighting cancer himself, has been a longtime supporter of the ride. Hundreds of people gathered on a rainy afternoon to for food, drink, live music and a large raffle to raise even more money.
