Hey! We've raised $223,070.05 of the $300,000.00 we are trying to raise for this campaign!

In Memory of Billy Coulter

Bill served on the Massachusetts State Police for over 45 years, achieving the rank of Detective Lieutenant. He was a member of the Massachusetts State Police Commissioned Officers Association. Bill was a longtime cancer survivor and passionate about Cops for Kids with Cancer, where he was the Chairman at the time of his death. His other passion was physical fitness, completing over 20 Ironman Triathlons and 150 marathons, including 36 consecutive Boston Marathons and every Disney World Marathon up until his passing. Many runners ran virtually last year to raise funds in his honor. This year we are able to once again run the live race on the course. With fewer numbers allotted due to Covid restrictions, we have to work even harder to achieve our ambitious goal. Please consider supporting one of our runners in Bill’s memory.

Thank you for your support in helping me raise my fundraising goal for “Cops For Kids With Cancer.” As a cancer survivor myself, it is an honor to be running the 2021 Boston Marathon and representing The Massachusetts State Police. The finances we raise help alleviate the financial burden families face when they get the devastating diagnosis of their child. Again, thank you for your donations and I’ll see you at the finish line!

Marc O’Meara

I’m inspired by my dear friend, Detective Lt. Billy Coulter, to run another Boston Marathon and to raise funds for his favorite charity, Cops for Kids with Cancer. Billy “Ironman” Coulter of the Massachusetts State Police passed away in the fall of 2019 and this is one of the ways I can keep his legacy alive. After doing the virtual marathon last year, I am training lightly so I can finish my 25th consecutive Boston Marathon this year, hopefully, on the real course in front of large crowds. As always, I try to cross the finish line ahead of Retired Lt. Steve Pugsley.  Thank you so much for the donation, it is truly appreciated!

These past 2 years I have been reminded that life is for living, and can be too short. Being physically and mentally able to run this marathon is humbling and invigorating. To be able to do such an amazing thing in my short life makes me excited to fundraise to allow others a chance to experience a longer life as well. I will think of all the survivors, those continuing to fight an uphill battle, and all those with us in spirit every step of the way. I am honored and grateful to be running for this cause, and appreciate all your emotional support through my training and financial support for this incredible organization!

Brandon Knox

Brandon Knox, after last years cancellation the 2021 Boston Marathon will be my fifth overall, and my fourth running with Massachusetts State Police and Cops for Kids with Cancer. The previous 4 years I have had the opportunity to raise money for this great organization and look forward to doing so again. The Marathon is a great source of fundraising for this organization and last years cancellation definitely impacted fundraising, so this year lets raise as much as we can. Thank you in advance for the donations and helping with this great cause, which is focussed on raising funds to provide assistance to families of children fighting cancer, to improve their quality of life.

Meghann Benesh

This year will mark my sixth consecutive Boston Marathon (if last years virtual edition counts). I’m honored to be running in support of Cops for Kids with Cancer & DLT Billy Coulter, a man who touched more lives, spirits, and families than he could ever know. Billy used to say that when you cross the finish line you will have accomplished a milestone that will be in your obituary. This year will not be the same without his humor, smile, pride and expertise on race day, but I am confident we will make him proud.

I am humbled that Cops for Kids has asked me to run for their organization and I am blessed to have the opportunity to run for such a great cause.

I am excited that on October 11th I will be running my 8th Boston Marathon. This year I will be running in memory of DLT William “Billy” Coulter who I was lucky to meet on my first Boston Marathon in 2010. I am honored to be running as a member of the Massachusetts State Police Ironman Marathon Team. Our Marathon Team is running in support of a great cause near and dear to Billy’s heart – Cops for Kids with Cancer a 501(c)(3) charitable organization focused on raising funds to provide assistance to families of children fighting cancer. All of the money raised will go to families in need. It is my hope that my family and friends will help me reach my fundraising goal by donating to this amazing charity. I appreciate everyone’s support and encouragement. Thank you!!
