In Memory of Billy Coulter
Bill served on the Massachusetts State Police for over 45 years, achieving the rank of Detective Lieutenant. He was a member of the Massachusetts State Police Commissioned Officers Association. Bill was a longtime cancer survivor and passionate about Cops for Kids with Cancer, where he was the Chairman at the time of his death. His other passion was physical fitness, completing over 20 Ironman Triathlons and 150 marathons, including 36 consecutive Boston Marathons and every Disney World Marathon up until his passing. Many runners ran virtually last year to raise funds in his honor. This year we are able to once again run the live race on the course. With fewer numbers allotted due to Covid restrictions, we have to work even harder to achieve our ambitious goal. Please consider supporting one of our runners in Bill’s memory.
Cops For Kids With Cancer “Sponsored” Runners
To run in the Boston Marathon you need to have a fast enough qualifying time – or you can run for one of the official charities. As an official Charity Partner of the Boston Marathon we receive a small number of “invitational” entries to the Boston Marathon. We use these entries to recruit individual runners who pledge to raise at least $10,000 for our cause.

Brendan Cryan
I am running the 2022 Boston Marathon to fundraise for Cops for Kids With Cancer, an amazing charity that supports the financial needs of families with children fighting cancer. Cops for Kids with Cancer has donated over $4.1 million directly to 762 families. I ask for your donation to help me reach my fundraising goal of $10,000.

Sonya Schumacher-Farhat
On April 18th, for Cops for Kids with Cancer (“CFKWC”), I will be running my fifth marathon and first Boston marathon. I am honored to run in memory of 8-year old Danny Sheehan who passed away in 2021 from brain cancer. I’ve seen first-hand the direct and monumental impact CFKWC has on children and their families, and I ask that you please help me support this wonderful charity and reach my $10,000 goal. “Cancer is a marathon – you can’t look at the finish line. You take it moment by moment, sometimes breath by breath, other times step by step.”- Sarah Betz Bucciero

Katie McIlroy
My name is Katie McIlroy and I will be running the 2022 Boston Marathon in support of Cops for Kids with Cancer. This will be my first time running a marathon. Cops for Kids with Cancer is a wonderful charity that hits close to home for me. I have been an Officer on the Duxbury Police Department for almost 9 years, my father is a retired Massachusetts State Police Lieutenant & my brother is currently a MA State Trooper. When I was 7 years old I was diagnosed with cancer; after intense rounds of chemo, radiation, alternative treatments and healthy eating I beat cancer and have been cancer free for almost 26 years. I have been blessed to be given the opportunity to pay it forward by running in the marathon for Cops for Kids with Cancer. Please help me by supporting this wonderful cause with any donation you can. I appreciate everyone’s generosity and thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping as many families as we can.
Elizabeth Ettridge
I am beyond grateful for this opportunity to run for the 2022 Boston Marathon this April 18th for the Cops for Kids with Cancer organization. I am honored to run in memory of my Dad, Stephen Ettridge, who passed away in September of 2021 after fighting Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and Head and Neck cancer for nine years. A proud supporter of Cops for Kids with Cancer for years, my dad understood the impact support and community could have for those battling cancer. Cops for Kids with Cancer, a foundation rooted in love, hope, and strength built a community to support children and their families in “fighting the fight” against cancer. Having felt first hand the impact cancer can have on a family, I am proud to support a cause not only close to my dad’s heart, but one that strives to help so many kids in their battle. I ask that you please help support this remarkable organization and help me reach my goal of raising $10,000. Any donation can make a big difference!
Barry Tufts
My name is Barry Tufts and I will be running my first marathon this spring with a goal of raising $10,000 for Cops For Kids with Cancer. CFKWC is a very special charity to me and my family. In May of 2018, my son Remy was diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Remy had just turned four years old, and the diagnosis was devastating. In November of 2018, my family received a generous donation from CFKWC that greatly assisted us as Remy battled cancer. Running the Boston Marathon this April is a way that I can give back to a tremendous organization that helped my family so much when we needed it most.
Bobby Hall, Rachel Hall and Dominic Monzione
Hello!
Rachael and I will be running together again in this year’s 126th, Boston Marathon, Monday, April 18th, 2022. This will be our 3rd year running together, once again raising funds to help support Cops for Kids with Cancer. This year, Dominic Monzione will be joining the team and running his first marathon! Dominic was inspired by CFKWC to run the Boston Marathon and help raise money for those in need. Our team goal is $12,500.00. Please help us exceed our goal by donating today. As little as a dollar a mile can make a difference!
We would also like to THANK all of you that have supported us in the past, by donating, coming out on race day, or just sharing some words of encouragement.
We will again be running in memory of State Police Detective Lieutenant William “The IRONMAN” Coulter, who motivated us all! Billy taught many of us to push forward and to never give up, even when things seem to be insurmountable.
Thank you,
Bobby Hall, Rachael Hall & Dominic Monzione
Peabody PD Marathon Team
This Patriots Day the Peabody Police Boston Marathon Team will embark on a journey to run 26.2 miles in the Boston Marathon. However, this journey is about more than just running the marathon. It’s about why we choose to run. This year, our team consist of Peabody Police Chief Thomas Griffin, Sergeant James Harkins, Peabody Firefighter Michael Coleman, Retired National Grid Forman Raymond Brady, and City of Peabody Mayor Edward “Teddy” Bettencourt. The opportunity to raise money for families battling pediatric cancer is what drives us to train for this annual event. Please consider donating to our team fundraising efforts as we challenge ourselves while helping to make a difference one step at a time.

Hello and thank you for visiting my fundraising page! This will be my 6th Boston Marathon and I must admit, this never gets old! Aside from this being the most prestigious marathon, it is the most fulfilling because I am raising money for kids with cancer as part of Detective Lt. Billy Coulter’s Ironman Marathon Team! As Lt. Coulter used to always say, “It is all about the finish line, not the finish time!” With that being said, I am proud to be running for this charity again.

Kendall Bennett
When my Uncle Billy, a Detective Lieutenant in the Massachusetts State Police and the Chairman of Cops for Kids with Cancer, passed away in the fall, I knew immediately that a marathon was in my imminent future. I consider myself to be so lucky to raise money for the charity that he was so passionate about by running the race he was so passionate about, the Boston Marathon.

Devin Cronin
Running my first Boston Marathon in October 2021 was such an amazing experience. The thrill of the crowd and the absolute chills I felt multiple times throughout the course was something I knew I couldn’t only experience once. Knowing every person running was about to accomplish something that is no easy feat, regardless of time, was clear from the looks of pride that was shown for one another while running. Running Boston is more than a marathon, it’s an absolute honor.

Chris Amate
This will be my third consecutive Boston Marathon with Cops for Kids. I am blessed to be able to turn my passion for fitness into something that will help children who are fighting for their health.
